As part of its plan to find funding for the refurbishment of Cressbrook Club and its environs, the Club Committee in conjuction with Cressbrook Community Group have invited Sheffield School of Architecture to use the Club as one of their 'Live Projects'. The idea of a 'Live Project' is that the students work with a real client (in this case the Club/Community Group) on a real project, to produce ideas and designs which are then costed and put to the clients. The students are graded on the quality of their work, not just the final designs but also their inteaction with the client. The purpose of this page is to show the progress of this project. The students involved are 8 MSc students from years 5 and 6. |
| Live Project 'Creative Coffee Morning' | Sat 21 Oct 2006 |
| As part of their Live Project, the Sheffield University School of Architecture students held a coffee morning at which they displayed drawings of their ideas for the Club and canvassed the opinions of the locals. About 40 people attended which was a very good turn out, and the consensus was that the event was a great success. To be followed by a further event on Saturday November 4th by another coffee morning at which they will display some more detailed and costed, proposals. The students are shown here with a scale model of the Club which they created in order to demonstrate some of their concepts. | ![]() |
